Lodging
The Hôtel Château Laurier will be the Third North American Sea Duck Conference headquarters. All presentations, posters, meetings, workshops, and banquet will be held at this hotel, located very close to Old-Québec (3-min walk to get inside the historic walled Old-Québec, 10-min walk to famous Château Frontenac and Dufferin Terrace), and just next to the Plains of Abraham, a 108 ha park. In addition, Hôtel Château Laurier lies on Grande-Allée Street, where delegates will find plenty of restaurants, bistros, terraces, bars, and hotels.
For the conference, 165 rooms have been reserved at Hôtel Château Laurier. Room rates (simple or double occupancy; CAD $20 per additional person) will range from CAD $81 (40 rooms; event #200099) to CAD $109 (125 rooms; event #179846). Room rates do not include taxes (CAD $2/night accommodation tax, plus 13.5% government sale taxes). Rates include wireless high-speed access to the Internet.
Reservation cut-off date for room reservations is 10 October 2008. Attendees must call the hotel directly to make reservations and must specify the appropriate event number to obtain the above rates (please do not forget to refer to one of the two event numbers when doing your reservation because it will contribute to reducing the costs of renting meeting rooms). A credit card number will be necessary to guarantee reservation.

Hôtel Château Laurier is the official hotel associated with the Third North American Sea Duck Conference, so we encourage attendees to lodge there. However, other hotels and bed & breakfast are located nearby. One can find an alternative lodging using the official web site of Québec City Tourism. There are also two nearby, youth hostels (Auberge internationale de Québec and Auberge de la Paix) that may offer affordable accommodation.
