Transportation

  • Québec City is serviced by Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB). There are direct flights into Québec City from many North American cities, including Boston, New York City, Detroit, Toronto, and Montréal.
  • Québec City is located 250 km east of Montréal. One may easily drive (a 3 hour drive) or take either the train or an intercity express bus to travel from Montréal to Québec City.
  • Taxi's fare from the YQB airport to Hôtel Château Laurier (i.e. the conference headquarters) is about CAD $30, and the ride should normally take about 20 minutes.
  • There is no real need for the delegates to rent a car in order to enjoy their stay in Québec City. They will find plenty of restaurants, bistros, terraces, bars, and hotels in the immediate surroundings of the conference headquarters. They will also be very close to the historic walled Old-Québec, as well as to the Plains of Abraham, a 108 ha city park of outstanding value.
  • Delegates interested in visiting areas other than downtown Québec City (e.g. Old-Québec, Plains of Abraham) or in birdwatching outside Québec City may need to rent a car. All major car rental agencies offer services in Québec City, either directly at the YQB airport or downtown.
